The two-day district tournament was a tight match for the Rough Riders as they faced off against several skilled combatants. All of their bouts, from their singles matchups to their mixed doubles sets, were insanely close and demanded the most from the team. The number one girls doubles team fell short in a third set tiebreaker, a sadly similar story for the number one boys doubles team that lost in a heartbreakingly close match to Granbury. Unfortunately, the Rough Riders were unable to send any of their roster to regionals, but hard work and dedication on display, combined with the presentation of skills they'd accumulated throughout the season, showed just how talented this team of tennis players really is.
"I am proud of all of this team has accomplished this year," said Head Coach Margaret Phillips. "They have worked hard and played well in all of the tournaments this season."
