Coach Jason Giles has gone on record to call this season the "Best district championship in SHS Swim history!" What sparked him to announce this claim is the stellar performance by both the boys and the girls at this past weekend's 5-5A District Swim Meet. Two Rough Riders were names district champions, including Sophianne Cortes after winning the 50 Free and 100 Fly, and Vincent Quijano who came in first in the 100 Breast with a new school record. It was because of individual accomplishments, like these, that help the team claim a 4th place finish for the boys and a 5th place finish for the girls. Not only that, but TEN Rough Riders performed well enough to qualify for the Regionals meet in February!
