The Lady Rough Riders played host to the Lady Pirates of Granbury on Friday, competing in a difficult showdown that put both teams coordination and skills to the test. Saginaw possessed the ball very well on the onset of the game, but were forced to begin playing catch-up after an early goal from their opponents and scored their first goal by the end of the first half. The following half, sadly, did not turn in favor for the girls in red as Granbury scored a further two goals and ended the match with a final score of 1-4. However, the Lady Rough Riders showed real determination and fight in their first district game of the season and look to use this match as a learning experience. Daisy Ruiz was player of the game, making the Rough Rider goal from 12 yards out.
Tuesday, Jan. 28th, the Lady Rough Riders are off to Azle to take to the pitch against the Hornets.
