The girls and boys powerlifting teams competed at the Boswell Invitational on Jan. 11-12. Both the girls and boys teams placed third overall. The boys team was led by Xzaviah Milton who won the SHW class. Jaiden Robinson placed third in the 308 weight class and Drew Garcia earned third in the SHW class. The Lady Rough Riders had several athletes earn top three in their divisions. Mila Luangraj, Francis Arroyo, and Bisola Olusomiro all won first place in their respective classes. Other top finishers included Aliana Cintron, Elisa Vargas, and Nghi Tran who earned second place in their divisions. Allison Ortiz and Jordan Johnson took third place.
Saginaw will host its next powerlifting meet on Jan. 24-25 in the Saginaw turf room.
