The Rough Riders competed in the first-ever EMS ISD Swim Meet and Senior Night on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Northwest ISD Aquatic Center. Saginaw was the second place combined team in overall points and the boys team placed second overall. Sophianne Cortes won both the 50-yard Freestyle and the 100-yard Butterfly events. Gavin Masters-Hogan, Joshua Frandsen, Josef de Groh, and Konnor Pagan won the 400-yard Freestyle relay. The boys team also earned second place in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Avery Mays, Vincent Quijano, Masters-Hogan, and Adiel Crespo-Mulero and the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with Crespo-Mulero, Frandsen, Quijano, and Pagan. Quijano placed second in the 200-yard Individual Medley and third in the 100-yard Breaststroke. Frandsen was second in the 200-yard Freestyle and Pagan was third in the 100-yard Freestyle.
Saginaw will compete at the Carrollton Farmer's Branch New Year's Classic on Saturday, Jan. 7.
