Saginaw competed at the Turkey Trot swim meet at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center on Thursday, Nov. 17. The Rough Riders placed second overall out of 8 competing schools. Every swimmer broke at least one personal record at the meet. Individual standout results included freshman Sophianne Cortes setting two new school records while taking first place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.85) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.09 sec). Sophomore Vincent Quijano won the 100-yard breaststroke and freshman Chelsea Moreno-Roman won her heat in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Rough Riders will compete in the first EMS ISD dual meet on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Northwest ISD Natatorium.
