Friday night marked senior night for the Lady Rough Riders, a celebration capped off by a spirited match against the Fossil Ridge Panthers. It was a difficult fight from the beginning with both teams putting up a strong defense that grinded the game to a stalemate for most of the first half. The panthers were barely able to slip through Saginaw's defense before halftime and put themselves up 1-0. A similar display of quick-footedness opened the third quarter and widened the gap by another point. However, not looking to be shut out, Senior Captain Daisy Ruiz broke the opposition's defense with her 9th goal of the season. Sadly, however, this trend did not continue as Fossil Ridge scored one last goal before the final buzzer, ending the game and the season with 1-3 loss for Saginaw. It was not the outcome that the girls wanted, but their teamwork and coordination made the game a difficult battle for their opponent. Their cohesion as a team, over the course of the winter, only grew as time went on, and it was a privilege for all in the audience to witness their hard work and dedication to the sport. Way to go, Lady Rough Riders!
