The Lady Rough Riders stole the show at Sherman High School on Thursday, performing well enough to send four girls to the State meet! Nghi Tran, Jordan Johnson, and Bisola Olusomiro clinched gold in the 165, 242, and 242+ weight classes respectively, with Nghi also making the best deadlift in the heavy platforms. Ashley Bailey was the fourth qualifier, taking home silver in the 198 weight class. They were not the only ones to receive medals, though, and teammate Hannah Brown won bronze in the 220 weight class. All of these victories culminated in giving the Lady Rough Riders, as a team, a 3rd place finish overall at the regional meet! Nice job, girls.
Nghi, Jordan, Bisola, and Ashley will head to the State meet in March. More details to come!
